“They lived their ordinary days in the most extraordinary ways…”
Why the idea you ask? Well, if I am being very honest, I had been listening to several Rachel Hollis and Brene Brown podcasts as well as reading their books and had ideas floating in my head…many of them were related to parenting woes or the frustrations of being a stepmother, shame, body image, exercise… I even had my blog titled, “Workin’ It Mama” and the plan was to share the real life of a working mother, just trying to make it in the world. I then realized that I would merely be re-inventing the wheel as so many chapters in Rachel Hollis’ book, “Girl, Wash Your Face” could be nearly duplicated by myself. Then it hit me…
I considered the many amazing people I have had the honor to encountered in my life (and those yet to be encountered). Most are not, and likely never will be, famous. Most don’t have piles of money. Their faces are not on the cover of magazines or ‘trending’ online. They have not been on the ‘Ellen’ show or ‘America’s Got Talent’. They are not YouTube sensations. Yet, so many amazing, exceptional things come from ‘ordinary’ people. From this came the idea of ‘Extraordinary Ordinary’ so that the world could be graced with all the amazing humans that on the surface appear ordinary but have a little ‘extra’ on the side…
